Sidharth Malhotra pays tribute to Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) on his 50th birth anniversary; calls him the ‘real Shershaah’

Sidharth Malhotra gave a stellar performance in the biographical drama Shershaah, in which he played the role of Captain Vikram Batra (PVC). On his birth anniversary, the actor paid tribute to the martyr. The actor shared a photo of himself and also wrote a short note paying tribute to the ‘real Shershaah’.

On Monday (September 9), Sidharth Malhotra took to his Instagram handle and shared an Instagram story with an emotional caption on the 50th birth anniversary of Param Vir Chakra awardee Captain Vikram Batra. In the picture shared, the Student of the Year actor can be seen standing in front of the Captain’s statue and folding his hands in respect.

Paying tribute, the actor captioned the photo, “Remembering Captain Vikram Batra (PVC), the real Sher Shah, on his 50th birth anniversary. I am grateful to have had the privilege of portraying him on screen. His bravery and passion will continue to inspire us all.”

For those who don’t know, Captain Vikram Batra was an Indian Army officer who fought for the country in the Kargil War in 1999 and lost his life. The martyr was posthumously awarded the highest Indian military honor Param Vir Chakra. Later, Sher Shah starring Siddharth made a film based on his life.

Sidharth Malhotra garnered a lot of accolades for playing the lead role of Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) in the film. This biographical drama depicts a brave chapter in the life of the Indian Army and Martyr Vikram Batra, who has been an inspiration for generations.

Shershaah, directed by Vishnuvardhan, also marked the first on-screen pairing of Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani. The two had great chemistry in front of the camera, which was also seen behind the camera. The two started dating during the shooting of the film and later got married.

Talking about work, Siddharth Malhotra was last seen in the aerial action hijack drama ‘Yodha’. The actor is in talks to lead the cast of Race 4 along with Saif Ali Khan. He is also considering several scripts these days, including an action film and a love story.
