Siddharth is working with director Shankar for the second time in ‘Indian 2’. His last film with the director was ‘Boys’ in 2003. In an exclusive interview with India Today.in, Siddharth revealed that his character in ‘Hindustani 2 (Indian 2)’ is closest to his real-life personality. He also revealed what he learned from working with veteran actor Kamal Haasan.

Talking about his experience of working with Kamal Haasan, Siddharth said, “I think the best way to work with Kamal sir is to get into the action and not just watch, because he inspires you. In ‘Hindustani 2’, working with him on the set every day was an education. I wouldn’t say it was all his, and we were just watching – we all had our own jobs. So, my job was to do what Shankar sir gave me, and it was important that my love, admiration and awe for him didn’t come in the way of that performance.”

He further added, “Working in a film that talks about zero tolerance towards corruption and speaks about the common man and all that, I got to see the anger that is still hidden in Shankar sir’s pen, his direction and his craft, because his concern and his anger reflects in this film.”

He said that his character in the film is very close to his real life. He said, “This particular character is the closest to my real personality in a film. But, Kamal sir has also always shown us that you should stay as far away from your real personality as possible. That’s what good acting is – you become someone, you become another living person. It was very helpful for me that it was just like me. But, the scale of the film and the scope of acting is huge. I will never forget this experience.”

‘Indian 2’ will release worldwide on July 12.
