After facing several delays, ‘Dhadak 2’ starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptidi Dimri has finally been approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a U/A certificate. But the film had to go through 16 major changes before receiving approval.
Directed by Shazia Iqbal and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, ‘Dhadak 2’ is the sequel to the 2018 film ‘Dhadak’, which launched Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatat. The new film was announced last year and its motion poster was well received by fans.
However, CBFC raised many concerns about the material. A dialogue with a political indication was re -designed to avoid connecting with any public person. Caste-related words were either silent or replaced with soft words to avoid hurting emotions. A religious line was replaced by “Dharam work“(This is religious work)”It is a work of virtue ” (This is a good job).
A famous Doha (Doha) was replaced with a different poem by the poet Tulsidas used in a song that speaks of calm resistance. Another line, “3,000 -year -old backlog will not be approved in only 70 years” was converted into a soft version, talking about centuries -old discrimination, “Backlog of centuries old discrimination would not be approved in just 70 years.”
Some other changes include, a mysterious scene with a blue dog was replaced by removing the dog’s blue color, cutting from a scene on 16 seconds in which a character’s father was insulted. A violent scene against a woman was replaced with a black screen. At the beginning of the film, disclaimer was converted from 20 seconds to 1 minute and 51 seconds, and now it is read loudly.
According to reports, despite all these editing, the producers have tried to retain the film’s soul. ‘Dhadak 2’ tells a new love story touching deep social issues. Now that the film has been approved by the board, the release date for the film is awaited.
