Amma’s first female president actor Shaveta Menon emphasized the need for the hour of working for women in cinema in India. Today South Closing 2025. Actor Shaveta Menon talked about the need for hours for women in the film industry. During a session in India, in South Conclave 2025, the actor also reflected his new role. First female president Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA).

Recalling his experience of working, expecting a child, Menon said, “You are asking a person who did four films when he was pregnant. And I had working hours, and I said that I was not comfortable working early in the morning. My directors understood it.”

He emphasized that this issue is more about simplifying communication and helping others understand the gravity of the case. “It’s a matter of communication. Communication is a major factor, many issues can be resolved with it. But, people do not do so,” he explained.

The actor also said that women in the industry often hesitate to ask questions or raise problematic issues with the committee. “I was the first female vice president in Amma earlier and at that time, I used to come and ask women to come forward and talk about their problems. But, none of them would come. And I felt very sad about it,” she shared.

Menon further defended the choice of women, emphasizing that most people are fighting their fight against people and systems. “You need to understand that every woman does not have the kind of support system I had. I will not put a casual on them that ‘they are not doing a good work’. Everyone is worried about their career, whether people will work them or not. Many women are fighting their personal quarrels that are going on.
