Actress Shweta Tiwari opened up about the difficulties she faced while shooting for ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’. Recalling one of the early days on the set, the actress said in an interview that she shot in a lake where snakes were crawling and children were defecating.

Shweta was speaking Bollywood Hungama When she recalled the days of shooting for Ekta Kapoor’s show, she revealed that there was a scene in which she and Cezanne had to stand in a lake all night. Calling the whole experience ‘disgusting’, she said, “It was really disgusting. Cezanne Khan and I were shooting for one of the early episodes where my character falls into the river and Cezanne’s character jumps in to save me. As per the story, our characters had to stay in the water all night and come out in the morning only when someone else comes to help us.”

Shweta revealed that the next morning when they were standing in the lake, they saw the real condition of the area. The actress said, “We were shooting for it at Film City Lake and were in the water all night. In the morning, we realised that children were sitting on the banks of the lake and defecating there. I was thinking, ‘Oh ***, we were in this water all night!’ I also saw a snake crawling there and realised that it was in the water with us at night.”

Shweta and Sezanne were one of the most loved on-screen couples in the history of Indian television. They played the characters of Prerna Sharma and Anurag Basu respectively. The show ran from 2001 to 2008 and featured several popular names such as Urvashi Dholakia, Ronit Roy and Hiten Tejwani.

The makers launched ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2’ in 2018. It featured Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan in the lead roles, while Hina Khan, Aamna Sharif and Karan Singh Grover joined the cast later. However, it did not become as successful as the original series.
