Shatrughan Sinha met Deols, paid tribute to Dharmendra with old pictures

Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha on Saturday reflected on his emotional visit to late actor Dharmendra’s home to meet his family. He remembered Dharmendra who touched many lives and expressed his deep appreciation.

Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha recently reflected on his touching visit to late actor Dharmendra’s home, where he met the actor’s sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol, and extended family. This meeting took place after the death of Dharmendra on 24 November.

Shatrughan described this meeting as very emotional. He remembered the ‘Sholay’ actor for his remarkable personality. The actor-turned-politician further said that the many lives that Dharmendra has touched will live forever.

He added, “It was great to meet them all and remember Dharamji what a remarkable man he was and the many lives he touched will live on forever. Praying for his peace and strength at this tragic time. Rest in peace (sic).”

Earlier, after being discharged from the hospital, Shatrughan and his wife Poonam Sinha also visited Dharmendra’s wife Hema Malini’s residence to extend their support. He had posted, “With my ‘best half’ @PoonamSinha, our very dear family friend, one of the finest human beings, excellent star/actress, artiste of the highest calibre, an able MP @dreamgirlhema, to meet, congratulate and may God bless her. Our prayers are with them all, and we also ask for the well being of my elder brother and family.”

Dharmendra, known for his roles in films like cinderDied due to age related problems after several days of illness. He was initially admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai and later moved to the Deol family’s Juhu residence.

A prayer meeting was organized for Dharmendra earlier this week. It was attended by many notable Bollywood celebrities including Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Malaika Arora and Sanjay Dutt. The family decided to remember Dharmendra’s life and legacy, with singer Sonu Nigam performing songs associated with the actor.

This will be Dharmendra’s last glimpse on screen twenty-oneFilm starring Agastya Nanda. It is scheduled to release on 25th December. The film will be a posthumous tribute to a career that has left an indelible mark on Indian cinema.
