Sharvari on John Abraham’s film Veda’s failure at the box office after two consecutive hits: ‘I really think the film…’

Sharvari has had it’s ups and downs in her professional life. After enjoying two successful releases with Munjya and Maharaj, she was seen in Vedha opposite John Abraham. The film did not do well in terms of numbers at the box office. Still, the Alpha actress considering this debacle calls herself still ‘a student’ when it comes to understanding the business part of the industry.

In a recent conversation with India Today, Sharvari spoke about the box office failure of her recently released film Veda. In response, the actress gave two ways of looking at it. She said that her heart was in the role and the performance. She said, “I really think the film’s heart was in the right place.”

Further delving into the business aspect of it, the Alpha actress stressed that this is only her third film release in theatres, so whether things work out or not is out of her control. She added, “It’s something I’m still learning, and I’m still trying to understand how it translates and what’s right in terms of business.”

Sharvari further revealed that her character was out of her comfort zone. Calling it “tough” and “challenging”, the actress expressed satisfaction over the love she received from the audience.

“I am satisfied because I trusted my performance. It could have happened a hundred other ways. For me it happened the right way. I didn’t do drama, which is also very difficult, and that was a big success for me,” he said on a closing note.

It is worth noting that just a few days ago, Sharvari’s Veda co-star John Abraham also spoke about the disappointing response to the film. According to him, they wanted to give a message with a ‘heavy’ subject. However, if people do not show their interest in such subjects, he respects their choice.

Directed by Nikkhil Advani, Veda was jointly backed by Zee Studios, Emme Entertainment and JA Entertainment. It also featured Abhishek Banerjee and Ashish Vidyarthi in lead roles. The action film was said to be inspired by true events.
