It’s rare to maintain that in our industry. Gauri is a very solid person, whether it is about her family or her friends. When Shalini was asked about her journey before becoming a socialite, she told about her upbringing. “Growing up, my father always told me that practice makes a man perfect, and I have stuck to that principle. Even though I was an average student, I sat with the top students in the class. Despite my academic performance, I was a frontbencher, which opened me up to learning and growth. I wanted to be an artist or architect, but I couldn’t major in art at university.
Shalini stressed the pressure of social expectations during her formative years. “When we’re growing up, we’re all expected to look a certain way and act a certain way, whether you’re in school or college or you’re married or growing up in a different city or society. Are happening. But I always felt that when I was made to do things that I was not comfortable doing, even if it was the best thing for me, I was not happy. Inside I would feel guilty, I would not be able to sleep and I would become irritable. “That’s when I decided I didn’t want to be in that energy anymore,” she said.
With time, Shalini has gained love and respect from the audience through her journey and work. “I feel like I have to live up to that because they have confidence in me. Before signing up for the show, I created travel-based content, but I saw limited interest in that genre. Now, I am doing what I love, and I am grateful for the love I am getting.
Shalini concludes by reflecting on her connection with Bollywood. “We all grew up watching Bollywood movies and imagining dancing to those songs. While I want to explore many avenues, I believe each experience leads to another, and that’s what happened here (in Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives).”
