Superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan will share screen space for the first time in King. The film will reportedly go on the floors in January 2025 and is expected to release in 2026.

The film will reportedly clash with Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal’s Love Aur War, which will release in March 2026.

Regarding the details of King’s release, Pinkvilla The report said, ,A film like King is perfect for Eid 2026 and that is what Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand are working on. It has been a while since Shah Rukh Khan has had a film release on Eid and this will mark his return to the festival after the historic success of Chennai Express. Given the shooting timelines at the moment, the makers will be looking to add it to the Eid 2026 release slot.”

The report also includes details of the film’s shoot: “The first schedule of King will begin in Mumbai from January, followed by a marathon schedule in Europe. The makers have done several rounds of recce in Europe to bring King on a large scale. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role along with Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma and Abhishek Bachchan.”

The report further states, “The aim is to shoot the action on real locations and studio setups, to bring the right blend of realism to the storytelling. The makers aim to establish a new form of action with Shah Rukh Khan in King and the superstar is also excited to step into this genre.”

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan has had quite an eventful 2023 with three back-to-back releases – Pathan, Jawaan and Dunki.
