Serbian MPs interrupted Parliament with flarers, bombs to support protests

Serbian opposition MPs on Tuesday discharged suspected tear gas during the opening day of the spring session of Parliament, indicating the support of anti -corruption protests.

In the footage shared online, opposition members were shown holding colored flarers and thrown into the smoke as the kanastars, thrown away as the session began to review the legislative agenda.

In a live video feed, parliamentary speaker Ana Branbik showed opposition to opposition and alleged use of “tear gas” in the assembly.

“Your color revolution has failed, and this country will survive, this country will work and this country will continue to win,” he told them.

Last year, after the deadly collapse of the roof of a train station, Serbia was shaken by the student -led anti -corruption protests for months, killing 15 people.

The movement has increased pressure on the Serbian government and the President Alexander Person, which shows the resignation of several high-ranking officials including the Prime Minister in January.

Tuesday’s session was the first when Prime Minister Milos Vusvik left the post, where he was ready to formalize his resignation.

Parliament was also determined to debate a new higher education bill, which would reduce tuition fees for university students – demand for protesters.

In anarchic scenes, the speaker said that after the opposition members start their protest and throwing eggs and water on the members of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party, plans would proceed to vote on the law.

“Do you defend students’ demands like this?” BRNABIC said during the session.

Opposition MPs also waved Serbian flags and indicated: “Your hands are bloody and” meet the demands of the students! ,

Scuffle

The speaker later said that several MPs were injured during the scuffle.

Serbia Health Minister Zlytibore Lonakar said that a legalist was taken to an intensive care unit after suffering from stroke.

For the first time, the first, more chaotic scenes erupted in Parliament when a fire extinguisher was discharged, flarers were burnt and smoking concerts were closed.

The office of Belgrade’s Public Prosecutor said that it had ordered the police to collect all available evidence to establish “relevant facts and identify pyrotechnic devices and identify people who used to identify the individuals and find out who and who threw the items during the session.

The fall of the roof of a railway station in Novi Sad City in November widely renewed the building.

This has long ignited anger in the country on corruption and allegedly lacking monitoring for construction and development projects.

Vucic and other government officials have swung between calling for conversation and firing the allegations that protesters are being supported by foreign powers.

To reduce protests, the government has demanded to meet several demands of student organizers.

Those stages include release of a fleet of documents related to renewal at the station; Forgive the protesters arrested in rallies; Promote money for higher education; And start criminal proceedings against the suspects accused of attacking protesters.

Outside Parliament, student protesters also opened the session, where they organized a 15 -minute silence in tribute to the victims of Novi Sad tragedy.

University students have emerged as leaders of the protest movement and have been blocking campuses across the country for weeks.

Student protesters, however, have refrained a formal alliance with Serbia’s fragmented political opposition.

During the latest in a series of large demonstrations, this protest occurred after thousands of protesters arrived at the southern city of NIS over the weekend.

On March 15, another major rally has been opposed in Capital Belgrade.
