Seema 2 Independence Day Poster, Sunny Deol roar on release date
The makers of ‘Border 2’ have announced the release date of the film on the occasion of Independence Day. The film is scheduled to release early next year.

On the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day, the manufacturers of Sunny Deol’s ‘Border 2’ have unveiled the first poster of the much awaited battle drama, marking a powerful tribute to the nation’s armed forces. Inspired by true stories, the film promises a patriotic cinematic experience on an extended weekend, just before Republic Day, for a dramatic release on January 22, 2026.
In the poster, Sunny Deol is in her prestigious military avatar, reminiscent of her unforgettable role in the original ‘Seema’. The fighter stands as a terrible symbol of duty and patriotism, dressing in gear and increasing a daze, which made ‘border’ ‘border’ in Indian cinema.

Directed by Anurag Singh, ‘Border 2’ brings a star-stads together which includes Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahaan Shetty, Medha Rana, Mona Singh and Sonam Bajwa. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishna Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, and is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in collaboration with JP Dutta’s JP films.
Talking about the announcement, producer Bhushan Kumar said, “‘Seema’ is more than a film, it is a feeling for every Indian. With ‘Border 2’, we aim to take that heritage forward for a new generation.”
Producer Raashikar Dutta said, “We return with the same passion and a fresh story, there is a heartfelt salute for our armed forces who once again promises to incite pride and spirit.”
Director Anurag Singh mentioned the symbolism of the declaration date: “Independence Day reminds us of the sacrifices made for our freedom, so it is a film. It is an honor to share this story with the world.”
The film hit theaters on January 22, 2026.
