Sebastian Stan is one of those actors who has had a really impressive career, mainly because he has impressed the audience by playing risky roles. However, he is surprised by what his fans mostly recognize him for, which is none other than his 2022 film Fresh.
Stan Discussed it during a conversation with fellow actors Adrien Brody, Paul Mescal, Colman Domingo, Peter Sarsgaard and Daniel Craig for The Hollywood Reporter’s Actors Roundtable.
The actors were asked about the unexpected reactions they received for their work. The A Different Man star explained that while he’s usually recognized for playing the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Winter Soldier, he’s also often recognized for Fresh, a film he co-starred with Daisy Edgar-Jones.
“Weirdly, bizarrely, I still find shit like the Daisy movie, fresh,” the actor said, adding, “Somehow people still come up with – this women with cannibals thing, I get it.” Can’t find.”
The 2022 film revolves around Noah, who faces the challenges of modern dating. He encounters Steve, whose suspicious appetite shocks the audience. The film is full of graphic scenes as well as twists and turns.
During the round table discussion, other participants shared their experiences. Brody said that people often come up to him and say that his mother likes him. Mescal joined the conversation and said that many people tell him that their girlfriends think he is “great.”
Domingo reflected on Stan’s experience, noting that he is often recognized for his role as the antagonist Albert ‘Mister’ Johnson in The Color Purple. He shared that he often sees older black women say “Oh Mister” at airports and added, “But it’s weird because Mister is not a lovely person – he’s an abusive person.”
The artist further shared, “I’m like, ‘Wait, did you know he was a villain?’ And he says, ‘It’s all good. Let me take a picture with Mister!’
