Karthi, a ligament injury, retained a ligament injury, filming a high-spurning action sequence with SJ Surya on the set of Sardar 2. According to a report by 123telugu, the incident occurred during shooting at Mysuru on Tuesday. However, the film’s producer, Laxman interacted with the media and shared a health update on the actor.
He revealed that doctors have advised Karthi to relax and take a week off to recover. The producer further said that the actor rolled his foot during the action scene, but thankfully the injury was not serious. He confirmed that it was a ligament tear and assured everyone that the filming would resume on Monday, March 10.
Laxman also mentioned that since the team has completed all external parts, the upcoming program in Chennai will focus on indoor sequences.
After Sardar’s success in late 2022, Director PS Mithran confirmed a sequel during a media event in Chennai. The film was officially declared through a promotional teaser. It was revealed that Karthi agent will re -reveal her roles as Sardar Chandraboj and none other than Vijay Prakash.
Discussion about production began in December 2023. By May 2024, the report states that the filming will begin in July. About 40% of the film will be shot internationally, including Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. The film’s team organized a Muhatrat Pooja in Chennai Film City and the event showed the actors and the crew.
Prince Pictures, which supported the first film, is producing the sequel. Siddharth Srinivas has joined as a co-producer. The production house also shared Pooja Sills, which received the first glimpse of the team.
In May 2024, pre-production work began. Mithran collaborated with Rathna Kumar to write the script. He brought a talented technical team together, with cinematographer George C. Williams, production designer Rajivan Nambiar and editor Vijay Velukutty.
Unlike the first film, which featured GV Prakash Kumar’s music, this sequel would create the composition of Yuvan Shankar Raja Soundtrack.
