Ajay Devgan is ready to see his comic roots again with the much awaited ‘son of Sardar 2’. The trailer was unveiled on Friday, introducing Mrinal Thakur as the new female lead, promising the audience a hearty dose of chaotic humor and misunderstanding.
Reactions have been mixed for the trailer. While many fans expressed enthusiasm about Devgan’s return to comedy, others could not help, but Miss Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha, who acted in the original. Some also questioned the need to revive the franchise after a decade. A fan wrote, “Frank to have comedy and dance and these histronics do not suit you. You look clumsy and jade. Stick for action and thriller. Frank Rai as a fan (SIC)”.
Another wrote, “Happy to see you back in a comedy role, Sir. #Sonofsardar 2 (SIC) all best for 2 (SIC), while another said,” This is 500 CR loading for Ajay Devgan (SIC).
Another wrote, “Sona had Hi Leena and Sanjubaba no one can match them (SIC).”
The trailer closes on a comic note, an elderly woman with Ajay Devgan’s character ‘Babe‘ – To be launched in only one pole dance, to be caught by the guard, eventually collapsed in a comic turn. This opening sets tone to appear to appear a classic comedy of gag errors.
Beyond laughter, the film also weaves elements of patriotism. A part of the trailer focuses on the life of an army officer, taking a cheek job in Pakistan with Ajay’s character, stating that he “drops bombs in our country”. The dialogue indicates the film’s time in an attempt to mix slapsticks with a comment on the film.
Vijay Kumar Arora, ‘Son of Sardar 2’ claims a star-stad dress, in which Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Neeru Bajwa, Chunky Pandey, Kubra Set, Deepak Dobaril, Vindu Dara Singh, Rashar Sal, Sharat Siyal, Sharat Siyal, Sharat Sial, Sharat Seal, Film, Film and Film have been performed by Devgan Film. Under the banner and son of Sarda 2 Limited, Ajay Devgan and Jyoti Deshpande are serving as producers.
The film has been slated for release on 25 July. Unlike its predecessor, the sequel is expected to chart a new course instead of getting up from where the root of 2012 left.
The first ‘son of Sarda’, which hit theaters in 2012, depicted Devgan with Sonakshi Sinha, and included a remarkable performance by Salman Khan by Sanjay Dutt and Juhi Chawla with special cameos. The film was released with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, yet managed to perform well at the box office.
