An unfortunate incident has shocked everyone in the South entertainment industry. A stuntman has died on the sets of the Karthi starrer Sardar 2. According to reports, he fell from a height while shooting an action sequence.
Stuntman Ezhumalai dies on the sets of Karthi’s film Sardar 2
On July 17, a stuntman named Ezhumalai died on the sets of Sardar 2. The film featured Karthi in the lead role. According to a report in India Today, a source close to the team has confirmed the news. The unfortunate death took place while shooting an action sequence for Sardar 2.
During the shooting, Ezhumalai fell from a height of 20 feet, leading to his untimely death. Police officials were immediately informed about the accident and the case is being investigated.
According to reports, the stuntman died due to internal bleeding. The shooting of Karthi’s film has been halted after the accident. As of now, neither director PS Mithran nor Karthi has made any official statement on the incident.
The film Sardar 2 was officially launched by the makers with a pooja in Chennai on July 12. The event was attended by Karthi, Sivakumar, PS Mithran and others.
The makers had also shared a few pictures of the puja on the x and wrote, “The auspicious puja for Karthi starrer Sardar 2 took place recently and the shooting of the film is set to begin on July 15, 2024 on the grand sets in Chennai.”

Sardar 2, directed by PS Mithran, is the much-awaited sequel to the film Sardar, set to release in 2022. The first installment of the spy thriller starring Karthi received positive reviews from critics and audiences. Now, the actor-director duo will be back with the second part of the franchise.
