The Badri-Kedar Temple Committee has introduced a new rule under which non-Hindu visitors will have to submit an affidavit confirming faith in Hinduism to worship at Badrinath and Kedarnath. The directive applies to all non-Hindu devotees, including actress Sara Ali Khan visiting Kedarnath.

Following a fresh direction issued by the Badri-Kedar Temple Committee, actress Sara Ali Khan may have to submit an affidavit to continue worshiping at the iconic Kedarnath and Badrinath temples.

Addressing the media on Tuesday, committee chairman Hemant Dwivedi said all non-Hindu visitors wishing to visit Kedarnath and Badrinath temples will now have to submit an affidavit confirming their faith in Hinduism.

“If all non-Hindus want to seek blessings in temples, they will have to submit an affidavit,” Dwivedi said. He said the move is aimed at ensuring alignment with the spiritual ethos of the pilgrimage sites, as pointed out in the report. IANS.

He further clarified that visitors will have to provide documentary proof stating their faith in Hinduism. This rule will equally apply to any non-Hindu devotee visiting any temple for worship.

Referring to Sara Ali Khan’s frequent Kedarnath pilgrimage, Dwivedi said the actress would be allowed to perform the puja if she complied with the new requirement. He said, “If Sara Ali Khan expresses her devotion towards Sanatan Dharma and submits an affidavit, we will allow her to perform the puja.”

Sara Ali Khan has been a regular visitor to Kedarnath since the shooting of her first film Kedarnath In the area. Over the years, she has often shared glimpses of the temple on social media, documenting her spiritual journeys to the Himalayan temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva.

His travels, usually undertaken without official privileges, have attracted attention for their consistency, reflecting personal spiritual routines.
