Late Sanjay Kapoor’s sister Mandhira talked about the legal and emotional challenges going on in the family. She described the aftermath of Sanjay’s death in June and rejected claims that he abused his second wife Karisma Kapoor during their marriage that lasted from 2003 to 2016.

Mandhira called for public sensitivity and urged people to avoid spreading unverified information. She also emphasized the difficulties she faced in handling family matters publicly, saying, “He didn’t treat Lolo badly. Yes, they had a bad divorce. All divorces are bad. Show me a divorce that isn’t, unless the two are having an affair and leave amicably. Even I had a bad divorce. So, please don’t fall for the bullshit people want to talk about and defame others. Give it a Keep it together, be human and stand up for what is right. Stop shaming the kids, ex-wife. Put yourself in my shoes and tell me what you would do, it is very easy to point the finger.

Mandhira dismissed speculations about Sanjay Kapoor’s personal life, insisting on respect and privacy. “I’m reading all these comments, ‘Sanjay was a feminist.’ First of all, he’s gone. Respect him. Secondly, everyone including Priya knew what it was. He never hid it. So, stop all conversations. He never kept quiet about who and what he was,” she said during controversial podcast,

Addressing the inheritance, Mandhira said that Priya Sachdev’s daughter from a previous marriage would not have the same claim as Karisma Kapoor’s children. He described Karisma’s children Samaira and Kiyan as the primary claim on Sanjay’s inheritance, saying, “They will always be her stepchildren. Let’s call it what they are. No one can deny that my brother didn’t love her. We treated her like family. Don’t take over the family while Samaira is there.”

Mandhira expressed her disappointment Priya’s public statements about her familySpecifically a podcast where Priya described them as a blended family. Mandhira said, “Where is the blended family now? Suddenly, it has disappeared. My mother doesn’t have a roof over her head. Honestly, they should take down that podcast. Or they should take it down through their PR.”

She also expressed concern about her father’s legacy, saying, “My father worked his whole life to take care of my family, my sister and her family, my brother and his family, and first of all, my mother. Not Priya, who he couldn’t stand, who he never met, who he didn’t want to be a part of our family. If she thinks she can take it all away, I’m going to fight it to the end. I’m going to let her take away my father’s legacy.” I won’t give.”

Reflecting on past decisions, Mandhira regrets her role in facilitating the marriage between Sanjay and Priya. “What she showed before her marriage with my brother has completely changed after the marriage. I am the one who told my father, ‘If she is happy, let it be.’ “I feel stupid doing this,” Mandhira confessed.

Mandhira talked about emotional trauma since his brother’s deathAs his family faces a legal battle and takes care of his grieving mother. “I’m not able to grieve yet. It affects me sometimes. It’s about fighting in the courts and taking care of my mother. She’s really completely shocked and going through severe grief. I don’t think any of us have really accepted that my brother is gone. We just know it happened. But when it affects me, it affects me very badly, and it takes me about a day to get over it. I’m over it. I can talk about when I feel that this is not my life. But when I feel that this is my life, and I will never be able to separate from my brother, then that pain is very deep.”

In another interview earlier this year, Mandhira had said Priya played an important role in ending Sanjay’s marriage. To actress Karisma Kapoor. His statement has come amidst the ongoing fight between Priya over inheritance of Rs 30,000 crore. Kapoor’s children from marriage with Karisma KapoorAnd his mother.

Speaking to journalist Vicky Lalwani, Mandhira claimed that Priya often messaged Sanjay while he was married to Karisma Kapoor. She said, “Yes, when he was with Lolo she messaged him constantly and I know that for a fact. It’s as simple as men being men. He was in a marriage, working on it, trying to fix it. He wasn’t in the most stable place to say, ‘Hey, I’m not interested.'”

Mandhira also criticized Priya’s involvement in her brother’s marital life. She said, “But you, being a woman, when someone has one child and another child, you are also recently divorced. You know how painful it is when you are with a child. How and why would you come and break another family? What kind of parenting is this? What kind of woman is she? If anything, you should have stayed away, knowing that these people are working on their marriage and have two children. You get divorced. You have a child. You know what it’s like to be a single mother. Then why would you come and do this to this family?”

When Mandhira was asked about the problems in Sanjay and Karishma’s marriage, she said, “A lot of things happened that were not good. My father wanted them to work on it. Our family listened and communicated. And Sanjay was going back and forth. He was working on getting things together. They had their second child. It doesn’t happen out of thin air, it happens when you’re working on a marriage. If he was left alone, it would have worked out.”

Mandhira also admitted that Karisma was unhappy for some time during their marriage and returned to Mumbai. She said, “She had gone back to Mumbai for a certain period. She was not happy, but he was working on it. We were all chatting. I know it takes two people to clap, but as women, we know that a man is weak and a woman is always strong.”

Karisma Kapoor’s children are also parties to the ongoing legal proceedings following Sanjay’s death in June this year. The situation remains unresolved, with both family and financial matters contested in court.
