Galaxy unveiled the 2025 event, Samsung unveiled its three smartphones: Galaxy S25, S25+and S25 Ultra. And now the fourth smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, is confirmed to be launched in India on 13 May. But, based on traditions, we also expect the fifth S25 version – Samsung Galaxy S25 Fe. According to recent rumors, the S25 Fe is expected to dig the Exynos 2400E chip and can pack a MediaTek Dimentation 9400 chip.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Fe chipset details

Since the Fe model is considered a toned-down version of the series. Similarly, when we were expecting minor glasses, the new report indicates an unprecedented upgradation. According to a report by Notebookchak, which cites sources of anonymous industry, Samsung is considering equipping the upcoming Galaxy S25 Fe with MediaTek’s Demistance 9400 chipset. While the Exynos 2400E is the preferred option, the production capacity issues in the Samsung Foundry can force the company to adopt MediaTek’s silicon as a contingency.

The final hardware decision is expected to be hinged on market conditions close to launch. Although Demistance appears to perform better than EXYNOS 2400E on 9400 paper, Samsung is likely to increase its own chip to increase its foundry business and avoid high manufacturing costs associated with TSMC, which produces MediaTek chips.

Last year’s Galaxy S24 Fe depicted Exynos 2400E, and earlier reports suggested that Samsung could reuse the same processor in this year’s fan fan model. This chipset is also rumored for use in the Galaxy Z Flip Feg being confirmed so far.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Fe to feature Android 16

According to another report by Sam Mobile, Samsung has started developing software for Galaxy S25 Fe. The smartphone was seen with model number SM-S731U and firmware version S731usqu0aydh. This simply means that Samsung has started laying groundwork for software which will run on the Galaxy S25 Fe. Keeping in mind the spotting, the smartphone is expected to run on a UI 8 based on Android 16 out of the box. It was further exposed that the smartphone could offer OS upgrade for seven years after its official launch.

The Galaxy S25 Fe is expected to begin at the end of the third quarter tail or in the fourth quarter of 2025. With previous fan edition devices, it is likely to be a parades-down version of the main Galaxy S25 (review), which runs on a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite for the Galaxy processor.
