In short

  • Exynos 2500 Chip will support satellite connectivity when you are out of mobile network range
  • This feature works through Exynos 5400 5G modem inside the chipset
  • Use the satellite tech and the same exinos 5400 5G modem of the Pixel 9 series (except Pixel 9A)

The Galaxy Unpacked event is coming fast, and until you are not living under a rock, you probably have already known that Samsung is planning to launch in its big mid -year program. The spotlight, of course, is on the Galaxy Z series foldables, and if the leaks have to do anything, they are ready to get one of the biggest design upgrade seen so far. But there is something else that is talking to people – and it has to do with Galaxy Z Flip 7. If recent reports are accurate, the phone can be operated by Samsung’s own Exynos 2500 chip. And if this is true, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 can just come with a huge feature – emergency satellite connectivity.

According to a press release by ScileoEXYNOS 2500 Chip – expected to power the Galaxy Z Flip 7 – Emergency satellite will support connectivity when you are out of the mobile network range. This feature works through the Exynos 5400 5G modem inside the chipset, which supports NB-Iot NTN connectivity using low-earth class satellites. Some other phones already offer this feature, including Apple’s iPhone 14, 15 and 16 series and Google Pixel 9 phones. Interestingly, the Pixel 9 series (except Pixel 9A) also uses satellite tech and the same exinos 5400 5G modem, but is manufactured in Google’s tensor G4 chip.

Coming back to an unpacked event, Samsung is expected to launch several foldable phones and wearbals. With Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 – We can also see a new device called Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE – first fan edition foldable – and perhaps Galaxy G Fold. If leaks are accurate, it can be Samsung’s most ambitious foldable, with a triple-folded design that can open in a large display. We haven’t seen much information about this phone yet, but its presence in unpacked will definitely be a big moment.

What to expect from the main foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumored to get a lot of slimmer and lighter design, while the Galaxy Z Flip 7 can come with a large screen and new exinos 2500 chip. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 fees can be a way to make foldables of Samsung a little more inexpensive, without removing the most prominent features.

Samsung is also expected to launch the Galaxy Watch 8 series, including Standard Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and The Watch Ultra 2. Here one of the biggest design changes can be a new square shape – a square chassis and a round dial – which is expected throughout the range. Based on Wear OS 6, watches will run a UI 8 watch.
