Samsung’s new adapter is made using gallium nitride (GaN) technology, which replaces traditional silicon-based parts. This enables high energy efficiency in a compact form factor. Samsung says the charger runs cooler, reduces power loss, and has less risk of overheating than traditional adapters, potentially extending the lifespan of the product.
The South Korean tech giant claims that the charger consumes only 0.005W of standby power when plugged in, but not actively charging the device. Adopter also offers Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certification for incorporating 20 percent recycled content in its developments.
The adapter supports USB Power Delivery 3.1 with PPS (Programmable Power Supply), which allows real-time voltage and current adjustment based on the device’s charging requirements. This helps optimize charging speeds while reducing heat generation and preserving long-term battery health. The adapter measures 6 cm x 7.84 cm x 3.4 cm (W x H x D) and weighs 167 grams.
Samsung 60W adapter price in India is Rs 3,499. It is available on Samsung’s official website, Flipkart, Amazon and select retail stores.
