Samsung has confirmed that it is preparing to launch its next generation mobile processor, Exynos 2600. The announcement was made during the company’s Q2 2025 income call, where it had shared a plan to start a mass production of chip by the end of this year. This upcoming processor is expected to be included in the Galaxy S26 Edge and Galaxy S26 Pro smartphones, which are expected to come in early 2026.

The Exynos 2600 is notable that it will be made using Samsung’s advanced 2Nm GAA (GAT-All-Around) technology. This new manufacturing process is expected to improve power efficiency and performance. With this change, the Samsung premium smartphone is aiming to close the difference with contestants such as Qualcomm and Apple in the segment.

While the official details about the architecture of the chip are still waiting, the initial reports indicated that Samsung is focusing a lot on increasing AI capabilities. The chip is asked to come up with a more powerful nerve processing unit, which will help with AI functions such as on-device voice commands, photo improvements and other intelligent characteristics.

There is also a matter of better thermal control. Samsung is reportedly offering a new cooling approach called Heat Pass Block or HPB. This change can help maintain stable performance during the demand for tasks while keeping the chip drain the battery drain and overheating in the investigation.

The benchmark results allegedly associated with Exynos 2600 suggest that chip may provide solid performance benefits. According to the leak, it managed to score more than 2,100 points in single-core and around 7,800 in multi-core tests. If accurate, it will represent a noticeable upgradation from the previous Exynos processor.

The new chip is said to follow the 10-core CPU layout, possibly a prime core with a prime core running at approximately 3.55GHz, three performance cores at 2.9GHz, and six efficiency core at about 2.46GHz. This mixture is designed to balance between electricity and energy savings, especially for everyday use.

Meanwhile, the broad competition in the chip market is also getting hot. Qualcomm is preparing its Snapdragon 8 Elite Jean 2, while Apple is expected to launch the A19 Pro with the iPhone 17 Pro model. Snapdragon chip has allegedly scored over 4,000 and more than 11,000 in single-core, which is in multi-core performance on Geekbench 6, according to the Tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo. This suggests that Qualcomm may once again proceed to raw performance.

The same source shows that the A19 Pro can give a single-core score of over 4,000 and multi-core results above 10,000 on Geekbench. These score will keep it about 15 to 20 percent ahead of the current A18 Pro used in the iPhone 16 Pro model. Both these chips are asked to offer strong performances, and they are likely to appear in the flagship smartphone around the same time as Samsung’s new devices.
