Samsung has been launching the Pro Vigurations of the rugged Galaxy Xcover7 and the Galaxy Tab Active5 from last year. Professionals bring high performance and large battery capabilities, as well as upgrade to display glitter, sound system and more.
These are mainly aimed at enterprises and government customers – hospitality and construction workers, first respondents and others. As such, they are designed to work in a difficult environment and have Bespoke features for workplaces not found on common phones and tablets.
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover7 Pro is now powered by Snapdragon 7S General 3, which is doubled in the original Xcover7 from 6100+. It is combined with 6GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage, as well as a microSD slot for cards up to 2TB.

The battery capacity has increased to 4,350mAh, which is from 4,050mAh at the original. Charging is done via USB-C (3.2) or Pogo PIN, which are to work with a variety of docks.
The Galaxy Xcover7 Pro is dust and waterproofing with an IP68 rating (up to 1.5 m for 30 min) and MIL-STD-810H compliance. In addition, it has been tested with general sanitizer (ethanol, chlorox, medilox), so it can be used in workplaces where regular cleaning and hygiene is a requirement.
The phone has 6.6 “LCD with 1080p+ resolution (20: 9), which now has a 120Hz refresh rate. It has vision booster (glitter) and touch sensitivity mode (can work up to 2 mm thick with leather gloves). Like before, the performance is protected by Gorilla Glass Glass Victus+.
Xcover7 Pro GG Victus+ and Stereo Speaker with Bright Display
The pro model now has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos Support. Customable keys, top key and xcover are the key, which can be assigned to various tasks, such as push-to-talk mode to use the phone as a walkie-tank or code scanning.
There is a dual camera on the back, 50MP main and 8MP ultra-wide, as well as a 13MP front-facing camera. Connectivity includes 5G (Sub-6GHz, Sim+ESIM), Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Activ5 Pro is 10.1 “1,920 x 1,200px LCD (16:10) with 120Hz refresh rates and touch sensitivity. This regular tab is above 8.0” display on Active5. The new panel is also bright with 600 NITs and has improved security with Gorilla Glass Victus+ (above GG5).

The tablet also uses Snapdragon 7S General 3 chipset, which can be configured with 6/128GB or 8/256GB memory. It is expandable with microSD card up to 2TB.
The Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro has double the battery capacity of the vanilla model and its power system is quite interesting. The 10,100mAh battery is hot-swapble (ie you can change the tablet without power). And it can run in no battery mode, which is directly operated from the wall. It is plugged in 24/7, without worrying about a lithium battery in the form of a kiosk or a workstation, for semi-installed installation in vehicles. The tablet supports USB-C (3.2) and Pogo PIN charging.

Both phones and tablets support Samsung Dex Desktop experience. They are also with fingerprints and face unlock, Plus Samsung’s safety suit with NOOM and Knox Vault.
Like the phone, Tab Active5 Pro has been rated IP68 and MIL-STD-810H, the S Penn is also IP68. It has also been tested with Sanitizers.
The Tab Active5 Pro has another clean trick-the NFC can work through the reader display, which simplifies its use as a mobile point-off-cell (MPOS) setup. Additional connectivity includes 5G (Sub-6GHz, sim+esim), Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth 5.4 and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. There are also stereo speakers with anti-feedback technology, which ensures clear voice communication.
Customable active key can be set to launch MPOS system, barcode scanning, etc.
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover7 Pro and the Galaxy Tab will be available later this month, although the US launch is scheduled in early June. In Europe, the Xcover7 Pro will cost € 610 and Tab Active5 Pro (128GB) € 810.
Samsung estimates that the rugged smartphone market will increase to 4.46 million by 2028, while the rugged tablet will grow up to 1.89 million as demand for retail, government, logistics, healthcare and manufacturing sectors in the market.
