Samsung is preparing some serious upgrade for its next generation Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to a new leak, the top-level device is eventually set to move beyond its long-running 45W charging limit. Details leaked from an internal one UI 8.5 firmware suggests that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will support up to 60W fast charging-a very important jump that keeps it closer to the offering of other Android brands. For years, Samsung has played it safely in this department, mostly due to battery safety concerns. But now, it appears that South Korean tech giants are ready to take a step forward. Now, the battery capacity is expected to be at 5,000mAh itself, but the increase in charging speed means sharp top-up, which really matters at the end of the day.
The source behind this leak is X (East Twitter) is the user @erenylmaz075, The WHO claims that the firmware not only confirms advanced charging speed, but also refers to Qualcomm’s next-gene chipset-Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is called 2-as the processor powers the Galaxy S-26 Ultra. This chip is expected to offer strong all-round performance, especially for gaming, multitasking and AI-related tasks. Some rumors have also mentioned the Samsung-Annya version of Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 built on the 2Nm process, but it is still in the air.
Design-wise, Samsung can also trim things. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is called thinner and lighter than the S25 ultra, possibly 7 mm thick. And on the camera front, rumors suggest that primary rear sensors, as well as 3x and 5X lenses, are ready to achieve meaningful upgrades. Although specific details are still not clear.

The claim is based on the codename found in an internal one UI 8 firmware building, which refers to three devices with M1, M2 and M3 labeled. They are considered to suit the Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Edge and S26 Ultra models respectively.
The report further stated that if this leak naming strategy comes true, Samsung may possibly look to increase prices in the lineup, especially with the name model now with the name model.
