Samsung is asked to work on a large camera upgrade for its next flagship phone, Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to a new rumor from China, the phone can switch to the Sony-made 200-megapixel main camera sensor, which is currently larger than the company using the company.

The Galaxy S25 comes with its 200MP isocell HP2 sensor of Ultra Samsung, but the upcoming Sony sensor is called slightly larger in size. A large sensor can allow more light, which usually have better photos, especially in low light. This will be Sony’s first 200MP camera sensor, and can plan to use it for the first time in Samsung S26 Ultra. However, this report also mentions that Samsung may delay this camera upgrade to Galaxy S27 Ultra, which may come in 2027. Therefore it does not completely confirm whether the S26 Ultra will achieve it or not.

The leaked Galaxy S26 also shares other expected details about Ultra. The phone will probably maintain a 6.9-inch display size, but this time also with thin bezels, which can give users more screen in the same body shape. The design can mostly remain the same, but there will be a noticeable change – the Samsung can remove the raised camera rings larger than the back panel. These rings were part of the design of S25 Ultra, and not everyone was a fan of how they looked. The new design cleaner can be more sophisticated. The phone will still come with an IP68 rating, so it should remain water and dust resistant.

For S Penn, Samsung had allegedly tested the phone without a digitiser (helping layer with stylus input), but the results were not good. Therefore, the company is expected to live with digitiser, which means that the experience of writing and drawing with S Pen should be smooth.

On the performance side, the S26 Ultra Snapdragon 8 General 2 is likely to run on the 2 elite chip, which is expected to be built on the 3Nm process of the TSMC. Samsung was interacted using its 2Nm chip, but the plan has been reportedly dropped. Samsung can again achieve a special “Galaxy” version of the chip, which usually comes with some additional power.

To manage heat, the phone may include a large vapor room cooling system, possibly 1.2 times larger than the S25 ultra. This will help the phone stay cool during gaming or heavy use and battery can also help improve life.

Samsung is also asked to offer more RAM this time. All variants – whether it is 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB – is expected to ship with 16GB RAM, which will make multitasking and overall performance smooth. If Samsung clings to its normal program, the Galaxy S26 Ultra should be launched in January next year. As none of these is official, people are advised to take details with a pinch of salt.
