Samsung Galaxy S26 series launch date leaked

According to tipster Ice Universe on X, Samsung will launch the Galaxy S26 series at an event in San Francisco, US on February 25, 2026. This is in line with previous leaks that suggested the same date and location. It is being said that the company has chosen the American city to focus on AI features for its flagship lineup. San Francisco is a hub for AI startups.

Buyers may have to wait until early March to actually get their hands on Samsung’s latest flagship. This leak was supported by another tipster @Evleaks.

Usually Samsung launches S series in January every year. But this time the company has delayed the release after reportedly canceling plans to replace the Galaxy S26 Plus with the Galaxy S26 Edge. The ultra-slim edge model is believed to be discontinued for the time being.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series design and display

The leaked images show minor changes in the design. While all models in the Galaxy S26 series are expected to feature an integrated camera module – similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 – the Galaxy S26 Ultra may get more rounded corners and new color options. In keeping with its new circular design, a circular S Pen can also be found in it. If accurate, this would be the first time we’ll see a change in camera module design since the Galaxy S22 series.

On the display front, reports suggest that the Galaxy S26 Ultra may be equipped with a 6.9-inch QHD Samsung M14 OLED display with a new privacy screen feature. The standard Galaxy S26 is said to have a smaller 6.2-inch QHD OLED display. The S26 Plus will reportedly feature a 6.9-inch OLED display, bringing its size on par with the Ultra variant.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series performance and battery

Samsung is expected to create a segmentation strategy for chipsets in the Galaxy S26 series. Some regions are likely to get Samsung’s new Exynos 2600 SoC, which is the world’s first smartphone chipset to be built on the 2nm process. Other markets are expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. However it’s unclear how Samsung will divvy up this rollout.

The Korean giant is also said to be bringing more AI features to the Galaxy S26 series at launch.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to come with a 5,000mAh battery, but will have support for 60W wired fast charging compared to 45W on the S25 Ultra. The Galaxy S26 may feature a new 4,300mAh battery while the S26 Plus is likely to retain the 4,900mAh cell. It is also rumored that these devices will come with Qi2 wireless charging support which will make them compatible with Apple’s MagSafe.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series cameras

On the camera front, although no major changes are expected this year, Samsung is planning some improvements. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is likely to have less lens flare and better image processing than its predecessor. The S26 Ultra is tipped to retain a quad-camera setup – a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide, a 12-megapixel 3x telephoto, and a 50-megapixel 5x periscope telephoto lens.

The Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus are rumored to get a new 12-megapixel 3x telephoto lens that will be paired with a 50-megapixel primary and a 12-megapixel ultrawide.
