In short

  • The Galaxy S26 series can leave the plus variants for the first time
  • The new leak shows that the Galaxy S26 will change the age plus model
  • Performance size may be: 6.27-inch (S26), 6.66-inch (S26 Age), and 6.89-inch (S26 Ultra)

Come 2026, we cannot see the Galaxy S Plus model for the first time in almost a decade. If anything fresh leaks occur, Samsung may be completely ready to retire the ‘plus’ version from its series of Galaxy. These rumors have been rounding the Galaxy S25 Edge quietly since the beginning of this year. At that time, many people believed that Samsung was only experimenting with a new look factor or naming strategy. But now, leaks suggest that the edge may officially replace the plus model in the next S lineup.

As Korean publication the alecSamsung is currently working on three Galaxy S26 models. However, the list does not include the ‘Plus’ model. Instead, Samsung is asked to prepare for Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Edge and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The leak also shows the display size: regular S26 can come up with a 6.27 -inch screen, the S26 edge can get a 6.66 -inch panel, and the S26 Ultra is expected to offer the biggest offering at 6.89 inches. These sizes appear to be based on manufacturing details related to already produced parts.

The report, if accurate, marks a large innings for Samsung. The company has launched a plus model every year since the Galaxy S8 Plus in 2017. Earlier, the Galaxy S7 Edge took the flashlight as a large version. Overall, Samsung has launched nine Galaxy S Plus models to date. But with the Galaxy S25 Edge joining the lineup as an additional option this year, now it seems that it was more than just one experiment, possibly to see how the buyer would respond.

Right now, Samsung is offering four phones under the Galaxy S25 series: standard S25, S25 Plus, S25 Edge and S25 Ultra. They are all powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset. In terms of display size, S25 has a 6.2-inch screen, S25 plus and 6.7-inch panels in the age, and Ultra gets 6.9-inch one. So if the plus is actually going away, the edge will step as a middle -sized option.

In addition to the S series, Samsung recently refreshed its foldable lineup with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 and Flip 7 Fee. While the company has officially not yet confirmed anything about the Galaxy S26 series, thus leaks often point to those who come. What fans will recall the Plus model or welcome Edge as a proper replacement, we will learn at the beginning of the next year when the Samsung S26 series is likely to start.
