Samsung has finally confirmed the launch date for its upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone. The device will become official on 13 May, which can be the thinnest smartphone of the brand so far. While the design has already appeared in many global showcases, fine details are wrapped around its specifications. However, a series of leaks have painted a clear picture of what to expect in terms of performance, features and pricing for the Indian market.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Design and Display (leak)
The Galaxy S25 Edge is probably being deployed as one of the thinnest smartphones in the market, suggesting a 6.4 mm slim profile – an achievement achieved using the tendem OLED display technique. This is the same technique that has recently been seen in Apple’s new iPad Pro model. Since it eliminates the requirement of backlight, the phone not only becomes thinner without compromising the brightness or screen quality, but also lightens. The display is expected to have a 6.6 -inch OLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate support.
Chipset and camera details (leaked)
The Galaxy S25 Edge will have Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset of Qualcomm in the heart, which gives strength to the same standard Galaxy S25 and S25+ models. If this is true, users can expect a top level performance in gaming, multitasking and day-to-day operations.
Camera-wise, the edge model appears to be punching above its weight. Leaked signals in a dual rear camera system with 200-megapixel primary sensor and 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. This setup borrows heavily from S25 Ultra optics, suggests that Samsung is eager to offer a flagship-like camera experience-although a telephoto lens may disappear in this model.
Battery and other expected facilities (leaks)
Battery capacity can be an area where the edge can compromise. Leaks suggest a 3,900mAh battery, smaller than the 4,000mAh unit in the Galaxy S25 and 4,900mAh in the S25+. Charging speed, however, remain with other S25 models, allegedly supports 25W fast charging. It is still not clear that Samsung will introduce any new battery technology-as to offset silicon-carbon tech-less capacity. Even if Samsung is offering a small battery, it should not be too much problem because the UI is well adapted. It will be interesting to see how the new Samsung flagship will come out.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: India Price (Expected)
The Galaxy S25 Edge can serve as the middle ground between Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra. This can provide more premium experience than standard and plus variants without access to the value tag of ultra. Given that the Galaxy S25 starts at Rs 80,999, plus is expected to be somewhere in the range of Rs 99,999 and Ultra Rs 1,29,999, the edge is expected to be somewhere in the range of Rs 1,05,000 to Rs 1,15,000, although it is not confirmed by the company.
Samsung’s pricing strategy will be significant for The Edge, especially in competitive markets like India, where price-to-wealth and standout features often make purchasing decisions. A combination of a high-end camera setup, ultra-ingested profile, lightweight design and flagship-level chipset can make it a compelling option for premium buyers that do not necessarily want ultra models.
As usual, these details are based on leaks. Therefore, users are advised to take them with a pinch of salt. It is best to wait for Samsung’s official announcement on 13 May for final confirmation on glasses and pricing. You can stay for India Today Tech for all updates.
