Samsung Galaxy S24 price dropped by Rs 40,000, but should you buy in 2025?
The Samsung Galaxy S24 is now selling for half its original price on Amazon, making it a surprisingly strong value pick in 2025 despite the new launch.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 has quietly become one of the hottest deals on Amazon this month. The price of the phone has dropped to Rs 39,999, which is a huge drop of Rs 40,000 from its original launch price of Rs 79,999. On paper, this immediately makes it seem like a value-for-money choice, especially now that the Galaxy S25 costs almost twice as much. But who should really consider the S24? Does it still make sense in 2025? And with the Galaxy S26 on the horizon, is it wise to wait? Let’s break it down.
Samsung Galaxy S24 price dropped by Rs 40,000, deal explained
The S24 listing on Amazon shows that the Exynos 2400 model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is selling for Rs 39,999. (You can also buy the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-edition on Amazon at a discounted price of Rs 42,000). In comparison, the Galaxy S25 is selling at its announced price of Rs 80,999 on most platforms, although Vijay Sales is offering it at Rs 74,999. Add the Rs 10,000 HDFC card offer, and the S25 effectively drops to Rs 64,999, which is still much more expensive than the S24 deal.
So the big question: is the Galaxy S24 worth a buy in 2025?
For many people the answer is yes. The S24 shares most of its core hardware with the S25 (Review), including cameras, battery capacity, and display. This puts the S24 in a good position, especially at its current price. One big difference is the chipset. The S24 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the S25 uses the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The difference in performance is visible as the S24 scored around 1.8 million on AnTuTu, while the S25 touched the mark of 2.2 million.
If budget is not a concern, the S25 naturally becomes the better choice due to its faster chipset and long-term software promise. But for anyone looking for a similar experience at nearly half the price, the S24 makes a strong case for itself.
Should you wait for the Galaxy S26 instead?
This is where things get interesting. The Galaxy S26 is said to bring a few upgrades – a thinner body, a slightly larger battery and a screen upgrade, but the cameras are rumored to remain the same as the S25. A real boost in performance is expected. The S26 may come with Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the same chip that powers flagship phones like the OnePlus 15 and iQOO 15. These devices have passed the 3 million mark on AnTuTu in our tests, so the S26 should offer a huge jump over both the S24 and S25.
However, there is also uncertainty. Samsung may choose to ship the S26 with its in-house Exynos 2600 in some markets. And even if it goes with Qualcomm, the S26 is expected to launch at around Rs 80,000, similar to the price of the S25.
So what’s the final verdict?
-If you want the best performance and don’t mind spending Rs 80,000, then waiting for the S26 is a better option.
-If you want a value for money phone today, the S24, priced at Rs 39,999, is very hard to ignore.
-If you want a middle ground, the S25 with a bank offer at Rs 64,999 is an option, but the S24 offers almost the same experience at a much lower price.
In short, the Galaxy S24’s current price drop makes it one of the most attractive premium phone deals in 2025. If performance isn’t your top priority and you just want a good flagship experience, the S24 is worth a buy right now.
