Samsung has confirmed that it will introduce its new devices including the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event. Adding more buzz to the launch, the Samsung Galaxy Ring is also expected to be unveiled during the event. The ring was showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in February. The company gave a glimpse of the wearable but kept its features under wraps. Ahead of the launch, the Samsung Galaxy Ring is said to have new health features, apart from the usual features. According to a new report, the upcoming device will have new biomonitoring features like temperature measurement through the skin, snoring detection, and more.

Samsung Galaxy Ring: What’s new

According to a report published by Android Authority, the Samsung Galaxy Ring will have several new health features. The report states that Samsung’s Health app is expected to support the health-monitoring features that come with the Galaxy Ring. Although these features are not available to the general public, they have been activated following an APK teardown of the Samsung Health app.

The Galaxy Ring will be able to measure stress and heart rate. The Health app is also said to offer the facility to track the above metrics through charts. Apart from this, Samsung’s smart ring will enable temperature measurement through the skin and predict periods.

The report suggests that the Galaxy Ring could also feature snoring detection, but there’s a catch. The feature would only be available when using a smartphone as a companion. Most of these biomonitoring features are already available with the Galaxy Watch lineup, but the arrival of the Galaxy Ring could provide a more subtle way to keep track of their health for those who don’t like wearing a smartwatch.

Features of Galaxy Ring

According to rumors, the device will have a raised circular portion in the middle that will hold the smart wearable in place. The ring may also house a charging indicator to show the battery status.

Samsung will sell this upcoming wearable in 9 different sizes and 3 colours – silver, golden and black. At MWC, India Today reported that the ring had S, L, XL and other sizes written on it.

At MWC, the design of the device looked lightweight and did not have a thick body, which made us wonder how Samsung managed to fit all the technology in such a small ring. The material is metal with a glossy finish.

However, keep in mind that the Galaxy Ring will probably cost more since it is the latest technology, and it is not cheap and is still in the development stage.
