Later this year, Samsung will release its thin flagship – Galaxy S25 Edge. But this is not the only thin and lighter phone on the 2025 roster, according to the company, Samsung Galaxy M56 is the thinnest phone in its segment.
Galaxy M56 is 30% slimmer compared to its predecessor
In a solid number, the M56 measures 7.2 mm thick and weighs 180G. For comparison, the A56 is 7.4 mm and 198g, M55 is 7.8 mm and 180G. All three phones have a 5,000mAh battery and 6.7 “screen.

The Galaxy M56 is powered by last year’s Exynos 1480. While the current is not fasting as an Exynos 1580 (found within A56), 1480 still has a 4Nm chip with AMD RDNA 2 graphics and Cortex-A78/A55 CPU core. In addition, there is a 33% larger vapor room than the M55 to help keep it cool.

The camera system has a 50MP main with f/1.8 OIS-competent lens and 4K @ 30fps video recording. Video recording supports 10-bit HDR mode. There is no telephoto lens, instead the main camera has an in-sensor 2x zoom.

Apart from this, there are an 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro cam on the back. There is a 12MP selfie camera (f/2.2 FF lens) at the front. Galaxy AI features are available to help edit photos (suggest), remove unwanted objects (object eraser) or convert them into clip art (image clipper).

There is no dust or water resistance rating, but Samsung tightened the M56 compared to the M55.
