Recently we got our best glimpse of the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro TWS earphones, which are expected to be officially launched at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris on July 10. These images have been shared by a Reddit user plastic_development1who managed to buy the Buds3 Pro from Walmart for $250. However, two more Reddit users – LiNx0NeXtUs And Single_Mind – also managed to buy the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro ahead of the launch, and all of them shared their impressions of the Korean brand’s upcoming TWS earphones on Reddit.
Let us first see what is plastic_development1 The user said that the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro “sounds great, but the bass is a bit too much.” However, the user also said that the “sound quality is great,” and they prefer the Galaxy Buds3 Pro over their first-generation Apple AirPods Pro. Ambient mode and active noise cancellation (ANC) are also better than the AirPods Pro. However, the sound recorded from the Buds3 Pro’s mic was muffled, and the mic quality was similar to the AirPods Pro.
plastic_development1 Further adding that the Settings menu only showed AAC and SBC as supported audio codecs for the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, which support touch controls – slide on the stem for volume adjustment and squeeze the stem to pause/skip music.

A screenshot shared on Reddit revealed that the lights on the stem of the Buds3 Pro can be turned on/off with a pinch-and-hold gesture. But this only works when both the buds are out of the case and not in your ears. Also, the buds will require at least 30% battery to light up, and they will have support for three lighting styles – blinking, fade in and out, and steady.
Another screenshot revealed Voice Detect support for Ambient Mode, which can be turned off manually by pressing the earbud after being automatically enabled.

With regard to design and construction, plastic_development1 He added that the charging case and Buds3 Pro feel premium. The user believes that Samsung has used a plastic hinge instead of metal for the case, but “they don’t feel bad at all” compared to the AirPods Pro’s hinge and “feel sturdier” than the Galaxy Buds2 Pro.
Reddit User LiNx0NeXtUs The stems on the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro don’t feel like a huge upgrade over the Buds2 Pro’s bean design, and music quality is no different. However, the Galaxy Buds3 Pro’s ambient mode is better than its predecessor, and they “feel just as comfortable as the Buds2 Pro, if not better.”
LiNx0NeXtUs He said that the ANC of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro is even better than the Buds 2 Pro and AirPods Pro, which is a good thing. plastic_development1 This was also claimed. LiNx0NeXtUs Turns out the slide gesture can only be used to control volume while the pinch/press gesture can do four different things. By default, a long-press will let you switch between ANC and Ambient mode.

Reddit User Single_Mind He said the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro and their charging case are too light and made of plastic, which makes them feel cheap. However, the Galaxy Buds3 Pro are “very sturdy” and “don’t flex at all.” “The case is solid and weighs very little.” The charging case lid also “has a good magnet and the buds fit nicely in the case.”
Single_Mind The sound quality of the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro is “much better than the Pixel Buds Pro.” They have “better treble, better bass and are louder.” However, the 360° sound is “not great” and head tracking “lags a bit on movement.”

The ambient mode is good, but “not very natural.” However, “you can turn it down so it’s louder.” The screenshot below shows how you can adjust it through the app, which provides a “great” experience.

Single_Mind claimed that the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro are “very comfortable and fit great in the ears” and are better than the Pixel Buds Pro. He also revealed that the Buds3 Pro come with medium-sized tips and there is a pair of small and large-sized tips in the box. A USB cable is also included in the package.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro’s “touch controls are good” and offer a “slight haptic tick.” Voice detection also works pretty well. Single_Mind He also shed some light on the battery performance, saying that an hour of talk time with ANC enabled consumes about 33% of the battery, and placing the buds in the charging case charges them up to 97% in about 12 minutes.
Alongside the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Buds 3 next week. A recently surfaced photo of their retail box revealed that the vanilla Buds will also feature a stem design.
