There are no major design changes, but one can argue that the Galaxy A56 is more sophisticated. For example, the 6.7-inch performance is slightly larger than the 6.6-inch panel on the A55 in the device, but comes in almost identical dimensions. It is just one millimeter long, but quite light.

None of the four is particularly sharp when it comes to charging, but the Galaxy A56 now supports 45W fast charging, while the A55 is capted at 25W. Neither the phone comes with a charger, but for A56, you will also have to get a 5 amp cable if you want the fastest charging possible, as one in the box is rated at only 3 amp.

The raw benchmark results show a significant performance benefits with the Galaxy A56 this year. Exynos 1580 Exynos 1480 was made better than 16% in the pure CPU landscape and more than 30% in GPU-intensive 3DMark benchmark. The joint test shows an increase in 25% performance.
It is quite clear that if you are for performance, A56 should be your first choice without any doubt.
Camera comparison
The Galaxy A56 and A55 rely on the same camera hardware at the rear. They have a 50MP main shooter 12MP ultravide camera and a dedicated 5MP macro snapper.
For selfie, A56 gets a new, better 12MP sensor with less resolution than 32MP sensors of A55.

Looking at the stils from the primary camera, it is safe to say that there is almost no difference in overall quality. The rendering is very similar and we cannot find meaningful differences in daylight and night scenarios.

Only we were able to spot the difference in the exposure. The A55 has a more balanced exposure with a more natural looking shade at night, while the highlights of A56 are very bright during the day as well as the shadows in the night paintings.
The 2x zoom photos are very similar again, but pulls forward with cleaner and sharp -looking stils during the A56 days. Although the quality is very similar at night.

The quality of video recording is the same. On the other hand, night video, usually looks better at A56. It is sharp, more wide, but with slightly more light colors than the A55.

Decision
As you can see, the Galaxy A56 upgrade on A55 is modest to say at least. Therefore, no wonder people are difficult to decide between saving a few rupees and getting old A55 instead, or simply going for the latest and greatest.
For the price premium of the Galaxy A56, you will get a slightly more sophisticated design, a better chipset, slightly charging, better tuning, better selfie, low-light video, and two additional years software support (6 vs 4 vs 4 major OS updates).
On the other hand, last year’s Galaxy A55, almost the same camera experience, long battery life, and provides a microSD card slot.
So if you live in a market where the difference between the two is small (like the European Union), then it makes everyone understanding to go to the new model. However, if you already own a Galaxy A55 or there is a big difference in pricing between two models in your market, then we suggest that you stick to A55 or wait a little more until the A56 pricing is essentially down.
