Samsung executive said: Galaxy S25 series will have the best cameras, display and chipset

Samsung shared its second quarter earnings report yesterday and held an earnings call to answer analysts’ questions. On that call, company executives confirmed the existence of the Exynos 2500 and they also talked about an upgrade for the upcoming Galaxy S25 generation.

Daniel Araujo, vice president of Samsung MX, said:

“The S25 will have top-of-the-line upgrades at launch, especially for camera and display specs, where we’ve been leading the way. And we’re also building on industry-best APs and memory to boost AI performance and deliver an overall premium experience.”

Unfortunately, Araujo didn’t clarify if this is for the entire Galaxy S25 series or just the Ultra. Rumors suggest the Galaxy S25 Ultra will get an upgrade to a 50MP 3x camera and 50MP ultra wide (up from 10MP and 12MP respectively on the S24 Ultra), making them a better match for the new 50MP 5x periscope. However, rumors about the Galaxy S25 and S25+ claim there will be no upgrades for the two cheaper flagships.

As for the application processors, APs, some units will feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and, if Samsung can improve foundry yields enough, some units will also have the Exynos 2500. And we’ve also seen reports that some units will use MediaTek chipsets as well. It’s unclear right now which models will use which chipsets, but it seems unlikely that a repeat of the S23 generation (which exclusively used Snapdragon chips) will happen anytime soon. Related to that, the S25 Ultra is expected to get 16GB of RAM, but it’s unclear if that will be carried over to the other two models (the smaller S24 still only has 8GB of RAM).

The smaller Galaxy S25 may feature a larger 6.36-inch display, up from the 6.2-inch and 6.1-inch displays of the previous two generations. Other than that, we haven’t heard much about the display. The vanilla and Plus models are expected to get a taste of the S24 Ultra’s Gorilla Glass Armor, which reduces reflections to a great extent.

Araújo also talked about AI:

“We’re expanding the Galaxy AI ecosystem beyond smartphones to include smartwatches, Buds, rings, Tabs and Galaxy Books, as well as our OS, apps and services. Galaxy’s hybrid AI will effectively utilize both on-device AI for fast and stable usability and cloud AI for high-quality results based on the situation, while also providing strong security and protection of personal information through Knox, including customer data.”
