Samsung can bring back S Pen Support in future Galaxy Z fold model
Samsung cannot be done with S Pen on its foldable phone yet. A new report states that the company is working on future Galaxy Z fold models that may probably bring back full S pen support with a built -in slot.
Listen to the story

In short
- Samsung can bring back S Pen with a dedicated slot in future Galaxy Z fold model
- The recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 7S does not support the pen, such as fold SE
- The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has an 8-inch internal display and is only 4.2 mm thick when revealed
An underlying pen cannot be out of the table for Samsung’s future foldables. While the recently launched Galaxy Z fold 7 skipped stylus support – like the Galaxy Z fold SE from China – it seems that the company is still working on ways to bring back the S pen, possibly with a dedicated slot inside the phone. This would be a big step for Samsung’s foldable strategy, especially after rumors in recent years suggested that the brand is moving away from integrating Stylus in its Z fold lineup. Now, if a new report happens, then the story of S Penn cannot end yet.
As South Korean publication etnewsSamsung is actively discovering how to integrate S Pens in future Galaxy Z fold models. This will not mean compatibility with stylus – it can also mean that a physical location inside the device to store it, such as in the Galaxy S Ultra Phone. This can be a very big thing for users that use S pen for productivity and creative functions, especially on a foldable screen that can be doubled as a mini-tablet.
For reference, Samsung added back pen support to the Galaxy Z fold series with fold 3. However, due to the delicate nature of the foldable display, the company placed S Pen as a separate accessory, never offered the underlying slot. It worked, but it was not the most convenient solution. In 2024, things took a turn when the Galaxy Z fold SE was launched without any S Pen Support, and the Galaxy Z fold 7 was the same that was recently revealed.
While Samsung has not confirmed anything yet, ETNEWS Reports suggest that performance in performance durability, Digitiser technology and compact battery design may eventually allow Samsung to see the idea of a stylus slot in a foldable phone. Whether it is happening with the next fold model or it takes a little longer, we have to wait and see.
