Samsung’s roadmap for 2026 has started to emerge, and an early look at unreleased software hints at six premium smartphones already in the pipeline. Since the company refreshes its Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series every year, new models were always expected, but these new model numbers give a clear idea of what the lineup could look like.

According to a report seen by Android Authority Inside Internal Software, Samsung has three S-series model numbers lined up for next year – SM-S942, SM-S947, and SM-S948. These are believed to correspond to the Galaxy S26, a mid-tier S26 model, and the top-end Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The confusion is over how Samsung wants to name the middle device. The short-lived revival of the “Edge” branding this year created uncertainty about whether Samsung wanted to continue using that label or return to the more familiar “Plus” branding. The leaked list doesn’t specifically mention the S26 Edge, which matches earlier discussion that Samsung may have dropped it due to weak sales of recent models. How Samsung ultimately brands the SM-S947 will play a role in how the device will be priced and positioned next year.

Past naming trends also suggest that the SM-S942 is linked to the S26 Pro, while the SM-S948 is clearly marked for the Ultra variant. But until Samsung confirms its branding, the mid-tier model lineup remains an open question.

The leak also outlines Samsung’s next set of foldables, revealing model numbers SM-F971, SM-F776, and SM-F976. These are expected to be related to the Galaxy Z Flip 8 FE, the standard Galaxy Z Flip 8, and the Galaxy Z Fold 8. With this, Samsung is set to continue offering both Flip and Fold ranges, keeping the structure consistent for another year.

The presence of an FE-branded foldable again suggests that Samsung is willing to experiment with more accessible pricing. The Flip FE could help the brand attract foldable-curious buyers who have not yet ventured into the category due to high prices. Meanwhile, the Z Fold 8 ensures that Samsung’s big-screen premium foldables remain a part of its core flagship range.

One noticeable difference in the leaked lineup is the lack of a successor to Samsung’s upcoming tri-fold smartphone, which is expected to launch later this year. Given that the first Trifold is likely to be sold in limited markets and in small quantities, Samsung may wait for demand data before filing a designator for the second generation model. The follow-up may still come later as the company finalizes plans for this ultra-expensive segment.

There’s also talk of a new slim smartphone unrelated to the canceled S26 Edge, but that also hasn’t been revealed in this initial leak. As Samsung continues development, more model numbers may be revealed.
