Samantha Ruth Prabhu penned an emotional post for Hina Khan after her cancer diagnosis. The ‘Kushi’ star shared a video of Hina on her Instagram Stories and called her a ‘warrior’. She also wished ‘prayers for you’ while tagging the ‘Lines’ actor on social media. Samantha’s post comes days after Hina announced that she is battling breast cancer.

The actor put out a lengthy statement confirming rumours of her battle with cancer and asked for privacy from her fans. On Monday, she shared another video on Instagram, revealing how she plans to come out stronger from this setback. Hina posted a video of her appearance at an awards show and revealed that right after this glamorous outing she rushed to the hospital to begin her chemotherapy. A part of her caption on the post read, “I refuse to bow down. This award that I received right before my first chemo was not my motivation alone, in fact I attended the event to reassure myself that I am living up to the benchmark I have set for myself.”

After Samantha shared the same post, Hina thanked her in her Instagram Stories. She also mentioned how Samantha herself has struggled with many issues in her life and has emerged stronger than ever. “It takes one to know one… I know you are an absolute star.. and the way you have handled all the challenges that life has thrown at you… is beyond amazing.. lots of love and blessings (sic),” she wrote, tagging the actor.

Hina was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer earlier this year. After wrapping up all her work, she is now completely focused on her treatment journey and has begun chemotherapy at a Mumbai hospital. The actress received a lot of love and support from her fraternity. Other celebs including Sunil Grover, Mouni Roy, Shehnaaz Gill, Surbhi Jyoti, Ekta Kapoor, Esha Gupta, Raghav Juyal, Manish Malhotra, Jennifer Winget and Ankita Lokhande commented on her post.

Shehnaaz wrote, “You are so strong Hina! Take care of yourself… you will come out of this like a warrior. Sending you strength and love.” Jennifer added, “I truly believe in your ability to overcome this challenge… stay strong and believe in your perseverance Hina… sending lots of love.” Hina’s longtime partner Rocky S also shared her post on Instagram Stories and simply wrote, “I love you so much.”

Known for her initial work in Star Plus’ hit show ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, Hina went on to work in independent films like ‘Lines’ and ‘Country of Blind’. She was recently seen making her Punjabi debut opposite Gippy Grewal in ‘Shinda Shinda No Papa’.
