Salman Khan’s Chulbul Pandey will not join Singham’s cop universe: Rohit Shetty
Rohit Shetty clarified that Salman Khan’s Singham Again cameo will not be a part of his cop-verse. The two characters, Chulbul Pandey and Bajirao Singham, will meet in a standalone film.

Salman Khan’s post-credit entry in Singham Again is no secret anymore. His police officer character, Chulbul Pandey, will soon join Ajay Devgan’s Bajirao Singham in the action-packed drama, Mission Chulbul Singham. However, director Rohit Shetty clarified in an exclusive interview with India Today Digital that the film will not be a part of his cop universe but a standalone.
Shetty spoke openly about this Bringing together two iconic characters. He told that they are from different worlds and with their collaboration a different film will be made.
“We were creating our own characters, and they were coming into each other’s stories. That’s how we created a universe. But these are two IPs (intellectual properties) that never met. If everything went well, and The audience likes what we create…this has never been done before, and it is something new for everyone. Also, Chulbul is not in the universe, nor is Singham going there, this is a two ip and two for personal movie There will be a union of universes.”
He also told that the film will take time to go on floors. He said, “It will be a standalone film, not everyone will come together in it. It will definitely take a lot of time to make it.”
As fans know, Salman Khan made a brief appearance in Post-credit scene of Singham Again, Presenting his distinguished dialogue, “Will you not welcome us?” After this, the teaser of the upcoming film Mission Chulbul Singham came on the screen. Loading Soon… Many fans were disappointed by the blink-and-miss cameo.
Explaining the creative decision behind the cameo, Shetty said, “We followed the international format, where at the end, you see a photo or a phone call. The story was already finished, and added Salman just because. Because we have him… We can’t let him be wasted like this. It’s better to have him in a small role instead of a full sequel where people think, ‘Why that? It wasn’t necessary.’ (It was not needed)?’ This would have gone very wrong.”
Rohit Shetty also revealed that he had been mulling over the idea for many years and when he approached Salman Khan, the actor immediately agreed.
