Remo D’Souza directed one of Salman Khan’s most important films, Race 3, which turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office. It is often said that once you connect with a superstar, you become a part of his world, and he makes sure that his influence stays forever. This was evident when Remo suffered a serious heart attack; Salman stayed on the line throughout Remo’s surgery and lent him his support.
“Salman (Khan) was the main person who was constantly on the phone with my wife (Lizelle) from the time I went inside the operation theatre till I came out, in the ICU and at the bedside. He was on call the entire time,” Remo revealed during the Mashable India podcast. He added that this was one of the many reasons why the superstar is widely loved and known for having a heart of gold.
Let us tell you that this happened in 2020 when Remo had ‘100 percent blockage’ in his heart and he had to undergo angiography at Kokilaben Hospital.
Remo D’Souza further in the same interview also detailed the entire day that turned his world upside down. The filmmaker said that he had to appear in an episode of Bigg Boss that evening. He was in the gym when he first felt uncomfortable, so he avoided working out. But even his basic stretching started giving him constant pain and eventually he started feeling irritable.
It was then that Lizelle rushed him out of there for medical help. “When I reached the hospital, the doctor told me that I had a 100 per cent blockage, it was a massive heart attack,” Remo shared as Lizelle burst into tears and he started laughing on the way. The director couldn’t believe that she had suffered a cardiac arrest, knowing that she is a fitness freak.
“The doctor said I was healthy so I could walk, no one else would have been able to get here. It was scary. May God not even show my enemy what I felt,” D’Souza said.
Talking about work, Remo will next direct the film ‘Be Happy’ in which Abhishek Bachchan will be in the lead role.
