Sajid Khan broke his silence on MeToo allegations, said- ‘I thought of ending my life’
Film director Sajid Khan opened up about his struggles following the MeToo allegations, revealing that he considered “ending my life” and faced financial challenges, including selling his house.

Filmmaker Sajid Khan, accused of sexual harassment by multiple women during the 2018 MeToo movement, has revealed that he thought about “ending my life” several times in the last six years. The 54-year-old director opened up about the physical and emotional toll the allegations have taken on him, but also shared that he’s now “trying to get back on his feet.”
talking to HT CitySajid, who is best known for his film Heyy Babyy, shared, “I thought about ending my life many times in the last 6 years. It has been extremely bad, in the sense that despite getting the approval “I’m out of work.” Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA) I am trying to get back on my feet.”
After MeToo allegations Sajid removed as director of Housefull 4 By Farhad Samji. He lost his job due to the allegations, forcing him to sell his house and live in a rented flat.
Sajid admitted that he once relied on “offensive humour”, believing that “offense is the best defence”, but now claims he is more restrained.
He said, “I learned the hard way. I have never disrespected women, and I never will. My mother raised me to believe in gender equality. I didn’t realize that my words would make me Such a huge price to pay.”
Recalling his mother Maneka Irani’s reaction to her exit from Housefull 4, Sajid said that she hid the truth for 10 days to protect her health. “I was worried that she would have a heart attack if she found out. I asked Farah (my sister) to hide the newspaper from her. For 10 days, I pretended everything was fine, left the house and came back. Went as if I was on the set… I have never said anything against any woman, and yes, the last six years have been a time of self-evaluation,” he shared.
Maneka Irani dies in 2024 After a long illness. Sajid believes that his death was partly caused by the stress caused by his anxiety. “She didn’t just die because of the illness. She was also overwhelmed by the mental stress of my worry. I feel like I let her down in some way. But now, I just want to move on with my life.” ” he expressed.
Sajid Khan, known for directing films like Hey Baby, Darna Zaroori Hai and Himmatwala, hinted that he may soon return to the director’s chair with a new project.
