Sai Pallavi remembers crying on the sets of Shyam Singha Roy and the producer’s reaction
Actor Sai Pallavi recently revealed about the emotional breakdown she had during the filming of Shyam Singha Roy. The film, which also stars Nani, was released in 2021.
Actress Sai Pallavi, who is currently enjoying the success of her latest film Amaran, recently shared the physical and emotional challenges she faced while shooting her 2021 film Shyam Singha Roy. In a recent interview, Pallavi revealed how she often worked on minimal sleep and how the producer reacted when she raised the issue.
Sai Pallavi explained that since most of the scenes were shot at night for about 30 days, she often found herself working with minimal sleep.
“During the shooting of Shyam Singha Roy, I would have been happy just completing the day shoot. Most of our scenes were shot at night and I am not fond of night shooting. I am someone who cannot sleep during the day. So, imagine staying up all night, only to wake up again the next day. It wasn’t just for a day or two, but it lasted for about 30 days. Galata Plus,
Sai mentioned that she was working on multiple projects simultaneously and experienced an emotional breakdown, during which her sister Pooja Kannan came to her aid. She said, “I remember crying once and thinking in my mind, ‘I want to act in films, but I just wish I could get a day off.’ I never told anyone about it, but my little sister saw me crying and went straight to the producer and said, ‘She’s crying, and she just wants a day off.’
The Fidaa actor shared that she was surprised by producer Venkat Boyanapalli’s reaction when she raised the issue. He said he was very concerned about her condition and gave her 10 days’ leave, saying, “Take ten days off. Do whatever you want, and come back when you’re ready.”
