Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan have made headlines this year with their public appearances, Instagram flirting and the pop star revealing her relationship with the Saltburn actor in the Please Please Please music video.
However, there have been rumours in recent weeks that the couple’s romance has hit a break. In a recent interview with The Guardian, Carpenter appeared noticeably uncomfortable when answering questions about Keoghan.
She described the music video in which the actor starred as “one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.” She added, “I’m so honored and humbled to have gotten to work with such a great actor.” Carpenter then scrunched up her face and mocked her “shy diplomacy” and repeated “such a great actor” in a funny voice.
The Espresso singer – who PEOPLE reports meets up with the Dunkirk actor “occasionally” – explained that she doesn’t want everyone to know the intimate details of her life. She just wants to write about “what’s going on in my life as a 25-year-old girl.” But she explains that everything comes with the territory.
Keoghan and Carpenter sparked dating rumors after they were spotted on a dinner date in Los Angeles in December. In February, they attended the Grammy Awards together and were spotted kissing as they left a Los Angeles hotel that night. The following month, they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, where Keoghan appeared smitten with the pop star.
Although neither of the two have spoken about their relationship, Carpenter was a little more effusive in her praise of the actor while speaking to Variety about his music video. “I don’t want to seem biased, but I think he’s one of the best actors of this generation.” She also spoke about the Eternals actor’s presence in the music video making it all the more “special” for her.
Carpenter’s sixth studio album, Short N Sweet, has been released alongside the music video for her new single ‘Taste’, featuring Wednesdays star Jenna Ortega.
