Sabarmati Report, directed by Dheeraj Sarna and starring Vikrant Massey, Raashi Khanna and Riddhi Dogra, managed to see a good growth of almost 60 percent on its second day as it collected Rs 2 crore. This growth is quite encouraging, as there was a partial holiday on the first day. The film’s two day collection is Rs 3.25 crore and by the end of the weekend it will collect around Rs 5.50 crore.
Sabarmati Report earns Rs 2 crore on second day; Qum is priced at Rs 3.25 crore
The first two days of Sabarmati report collection taken as a whole is not surprising, neither in a good nor a bad way. The focus was always on how it goes on Monday and then weeks two and three, rather than how it opens. The open performance of Pushpa: The Rule will help it retain the screens in the second and third weeks as well. There could be a nice cameo performance, similar to the one from a similar-looking Swatantra Veer Savarkar earlier in the year.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 remains the most favorite Hindi film in India
Despite being the only new Hindi release, Sabarmati Report is not the most loved Hindi film of the week. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 retains the top spot, followed by Singham Again. For a South Indian film without any recognized IP, the dubbed Hindi version of Kanguva opened quite well. But, the impact of bad reports is beginning to be seen on bookings.

About Sabarmati Report
Samar Kumar (Vikrant Massey) is a small-time Hindi film reporter. Shloka (Barkha Singh) is his girlfriend. Samar gets the opportunity of a lifetime to work as a cameraman for a big television company, EBT News, and get close to a very famous news presenter, Manika Rajpurohit (Ridhi Dogra). Manika and Samar go to Godhra, Gujarat to cover the 2002 Sabarmati Express train fire.
Samar is surprised at how Manika changed the entire story around the Godhra incident. Samar’s independent Hindi report, which he made on the spot, highlighting the horror of the people injured in the Godhra incident, has been rejected by the news company as it was not a good service for them. Summer secretly asks the video archivist to keep her report safe and give it to an EBT News reporter who really wants to uncover the truth.
Samar is fired from her job and no media company hires her due to her bad reputation. To survive he has to do small dubbing work. His respect for journalism is at an all-time low.
Five years after the Godhra carnage, up-and-coming journalist Amrita Gill (Raashi Khanna) of EBT News gets a chance to revisit the report on Sabarmati. Samar’s report is also presented in front of her, seeing which she is really surprised. She reaches Samar. Due to her hatred of journalism but her desire to uncover the truth, Samar finds herself in a very awkward situation. He doesn’t even know whether Amrita is really on his side or whether he still likes Manika, his inspiration for getting into journalism.
Does the truth of Godhra incident come out, or is EBT News so powerful that it cannot bring this news out?
