Ryan Reynolds says he’s not ready to don the hero costume yet! The Deadpool and Wolverine actor shared his first social media post after his wife Blake Lively filed a complaint against Justin Baldoni. In the lawsuit, she accused her It End’s With Us co-star and director of sexually harassing her and launching an alleged online defamation campaign to “destroy” her reputation.
The post shows Reynolds in his iconic Deadpool costume as he rides on a sleigh to help raise money for the SickKids Foundation. She reposted the video on her Instagram Story and encouraged her followers to donate to the cause.
“It’s almost Christmas Eve. Last day to donate to (SickKids Foundation),” he wrote. “Thank you (Brian Rowland) for directing this wonderful little masterpiece at a time when I really didn’t feel like wearing a suit,” he said, possibly referring to the challenges of dealing with the lawsuit’s failure.
Reynolds continued to thank Lynda Carter, who made a special appearance in the campaign video, and her daughter for becoming his assistant while wearing the same Deadpool costume. He added, “Thank you to my daughter for being such a good person despite being asked to swear by your father (for a good cause).”
Highlighting how the organization took the initiative to provide “sanctuary for so many children and their parents making the unimaginable journey,” the Free Guy actor revealed that he and Lively will match any donation up to $500K. Will equalize.
Earlier this week, a source told People magazine that the actor has been a constant support for his wife during recent challenging times. Ryan is always her rock. They have a very special relationship. “He’s very proud of her in more ways than one,” the source said.
The Green Lantern actress accused Baldoni of abuse during the production of her film. She alleged that he showed her obscene pictures and videos and inquired about her personal sex life.
However, the Jane the Virgin actor’s attorney, Brian Friedman, issued a statement denying all allegations. He claimed that the lawsuit was an attempt to fix his “negative reputation” and that there was no truth to this.
He further alleged that the allegations are “false, defamatory and deliberately cowardly with the intent to hurt the public” and that Lively frequently caused issues during the filming of It Ends with Us.
