He said, “I took a workshop on conflict resolution, and it changed my whole life, I just didn’t know how to process what I felt. Because when I was younger, my mindset was lacking. I didn’t know how to unlearn that thing in your mind that makes you always want to win or be right.”
Talking about this, the actor said that while working through his emotions was something he learned to do as an adult, the same is not true for his children. He said, “I have 4 kids and so far, none of them have that (scarcity mentality), partly because they were born on ‘Easy Street’.”
Talking about parenting in this generation, he added, “Parents today are very different. We’re a lot softer. I don’t yell. That’s what I grew up with — it was crazy, it was an improvised militia.” He further explained how things have changed for the better. He concluded, “Now it’s like I can look at all my resources for parenting and remind myself how to be completely kind.”
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, who were married in September 2012, are the proud parents of 4 children, 3 daughters – James, Inez and Betty, and a son, Olin.
