We all know that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have been supportive of each other in their work and marriage days. But when it comes to the box office, they’re even stronger together.
Recently, both Hollywood stars have released films independently. Reynolds may be seen reprising his superhero character in Deadpool and Wolverine, while Blake Lively may be seen in the drama It Ends With Us.
Both these films have earned well at the box office, making this most loved pair a legend in the Hollywood film industry. Talking about the films of the stars, both the films are at number 1 and number 2 at the box office simultaneously in 34 years.
Lively’s ‘It Ends With Us’ releases on August 9, 2024, while Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, also starring Hugh Jackman, releases on July 26 this year.
Surprisingly, It Ends With Us has earned $50 million, just behind the Free Guy actor’s film, a Marvel Studios project that grossed over $54 million this weekend. Deadpool and Wolverine have also grossed $494.3 million domestically since their theatrical release.
Before Lively and Reynolds, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore were the top box office stars as a married couple. Their films had the highest box office collections in the 1990s.
Die Hard 2, starring Willis, was released on July 3, while Demi Moore was seen in Ghost, which premiered less than two weeks later. Both Die Hard 2 and Ghost made the top two movie lists when it came to that epic and nostalgic era.
Ghost was reported to be the second most successful film, dominating the box office with a gross of $217.6 million, reports PEOPLE. Meanwhile, Die Hard 2 came in at number 8 with a gross of $117.5 million.
Talking about the film starring Demi Moore, it was also nominated for Oscars in five different categories and won two awards. Bruce Willis and Demi Moore married in 1987 and welcomed three daughters, but sadly the couple got divorced in the year 2000.
Both Willis and Moore have appeared in three films together, 1991’s Mortal Thoughts, followed by the 1996 film Beavis and Butt-Head Do America as well as the 2003 film Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.
Similarly, Lively and Reynolds were seen in Green Lantern, IF, and Deadpool & Wolverine, in which The Shallows actress played Lady Deadpool.
