Rely on Ryan Gosling to tickle your funny bone! The actor did not disappoint his new film project Hell Mary’s trailer and disappointed with his punchline in Cinemacon. Gosling shed his ‘Kennerji’ to play the role of an astronaut in the science-fi adventure directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
Based on Andy Veer’s Bestseller, the film revolves around a middle school teacher, reluctant astronauts, Railend Grace (Gosling). The Barbie actor quipped that the people of Amazon MGM Studios’ Cinema’s presentation were the first people to get a glimpse of the film after their mother.
He revealed that his character reluctantly sent to space after asking Sandra Hul’s character about the mission. “Who dies in space in space? Who is to sign up for him?” He jokingly asked the crowd.
Gosling said, “I have placed ‘no’ in astronauts; I have never done a spacewalk – I can’t even Moonwalk.” Finally, their character goes into space and should find a way to protect the Earth from an astronomical destruction. The Fall Gai actor also revealed that the film is for the big screen.
So much that when he tried to play it on TV, it would not fit. Despite being manufactured by a streamer, Gosling’s comments confirmed the studio’s commitment for a dramatic release.
Mike Hopkins, head of Amazon and MGM Studio, also stepped on stage and emphasized his mission to release the film dramatically. He also said that the project marked the first cinema of streammer.
Gosling is also producing the film with Lord, Miller, Amy Pascal, Aditya Sood, Rachel O’Coner and Veer. According to The Hollywood reporter, the trailer played the Soundtrack of the Sign Sign of Harry Styles.
This clip was opened with Gosling as a teacher in a class full of youth, until he is contacted with a warning by Eva Strat (Hul): Earth is in danger and requires a rescue mission.
Project Hell Mary will hit theaters on March 20, 2026.
