A classic robin hood story never goes out of style, he says. A rebellious Dalit person who takes the rich to give the poor to the poor has been the main plot for many hits in Indian cinema.
The 2025 Telugu film Robinhood, directed by Venky Kudumula, is Nithin and Cerelela stars in the lead. Keeping the classic story as the basis, did this commercial comedy entertainer live up to the standards of the mythical story? Let’s know!

Bankrupt, Robinhood by Mythri filmmakers is a comedy action film, including Venla Kishore, Rajendra Prasad, Devdutt Nez, and Shine Tom Chacko, including lead pair Nithin and Sarelilla. GV Prakash Kumar has composed music, while Sai Shriram has handled cinematography.
Rama, an orphan with a deep -rooted belief that all Indians are his families, the vigilance hero gives Robin Hood to form the hood. Inspired by his ideals, the road-smart boy starts stealing from the rich to support his fellow orphans. As he matures, he embraces the Robin Hood personality perfectly, growing in the scale with his successor and charity. However, after a close brush with the law, Rama decided to overtake his past and serve in a security agency.
Meanwhile, in a remote village of Rudrakonda, a ruthless gangster named Swami seizes the control, forces the local people in illegal cannabis cultivation. Learning that a billionaire abroad is something valuable in pharmaceutical tycoon, Swami has prepared a plan for India to woo the businessman’s daughter, Neeru. In search of security, Neeru hits Ram’s security agency to visit Rudrakonda. Will Ram/Robinhood manage to escape from his past and save Rudrakonda from Neeru? And is Neeru more than the arrival of Neeru than meeting the eyes? These questions are the crucks of the film.
Robinhood is still another attempt to resume the Classic Telugu commercial entertainment template, but it fails to rebuild the magic of the old school on the screen. Director Venki Kudumula, known for Bhishma and Shailo, makes Robin Hood on legend, but provides a story that is everywhere. Barely with any moment that can be passed as an attractive story, the film stumbles in all departments- story, screenplay and dialogue.
Lack of continuity in storytelling is one of the many shortcomings of the film. Nithin and Cerela’s abandoned romantic arc and end deficiency for the character’s character are prime examples of incompatible writing.
Nithin and Serela gave a decent performance in the form of RAM/Robinhood and Neeru. Both actors look well within their rest areas, neither offer a standout Act. The comedy is the only attractive element of the film, in which Rajendra Prasad and Venela Kishore have managed to attract some gigls through their bizarre one-liners and on-screen bantar. The villain, Devdutt Naz has an appearance, but is severely reduced.
GV Prakash’s music tries his best to keep the audience busy, but with very little support from the screenplay, only that can only do. Cinematography, however, deserves praise. Sai Shri Ram grabbed the scenario beautifully, so that the film could be visually appealed in parts.
Australian cricketer David Warner was an important part of the film’s marketing campaign, especially during the final phase of publicity. The debut was done as his acting begins with an extended cameo, his real screen time was slightly higher than an extended Instagram reel. Warner is introduced at the end of the film as The Big Bad Villain – Swami’s boss -. Their two-minute appearance and one-liners bring out cheers and laughter, but was this intent reaction? “Lollipops are red, David’s enemies are dead,” with climate dialogues, such as Warner, comes as more caricaturish than the mass.

Robinhood serves as an example of the fact that relying on an old template without innovation or reinforcement does not work for films in 2025. The Robin Hood Legend can never go out of style, but this version-and its commercial formulas.
