Robert Downey Jr. may have impressed the Russo Brothers to direct the upcoming Avengers films! The Oscar winning actor made a brilliant comeback to the Marvel Universe as Doctor Doom after playing the role of Iron Man aka Tony Stark for more than a decade.
Talking to Omlite, Russo revealed that he and his brother were hesitant to go to the board with the project and that Downey was the first to pitch the idea. The actor came close to the deal with Russo brothers but he still did not agree.
“We didn’t just have a story. We had no way. We were resistant for some time,” the director revealed. He did not agree to direct the films until close aide and screenwriter Stephen McPhalee did not pitch his stories for the Avengers sequel.
When Mcfely told him his idea, the Russo brothers were immediately captive. “We went, this is the story!” That story has to be told; Joe told the outlet. Now when cooks have such high expectations for the story to work, fans may not have their excitement.
Directing Duo famous some of the most memorable films of the entire franchise, including Avengers: Endeze, Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Captain America: Civil War.
