Actor Rishabh Shetty’s much-awaited Kantara: Chapter 1 is set to release during Dussehra 2025. The makers of the National Award-winning film Kantara announced the news on 17 November.

Hombale Films, the official production house of Kantara, shared an interesting poster for the upcoming film and announced that Kantara: Chapter 1 will release in theaters on October 2, 2025. The film will be released on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra.

Earlier, during a media interaction in Delhi, producer Vijay Kiragandur had shared an update on the prequel of Kantara. He confirmed that Kantara: Chapter 1, starring and directed by Rishabh Shetty, is progressing well. “We have completed about 30 per cent of the filming, and the next schedule starts in September. Fans can expect the film to release in theaters by August 2025,” Kiragandur said.

The prequel, which is currently being shot in Kundapura, will delve deeper into the story that enthralled audiences across the world. Kantara won Rishabh Shetty the Best Actor award and was also recognized as Best Popular Film for Providing Wholesome Entertainment at the 70th National Film Awards.
