Filmmaker Sandeep Singh has roped in Kantara star Rishabh Shetty to play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in his upcoming film The Pride of India: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He announced this on social media on Tuesday.
Sharing the first poster of the film in which Rishabh Shetty plays Shivaji Maharaj, Sandeep Singh wrote, “It’s our honor and privilege to present the epic saga of India’s greatest warrior king – the Pride of India: #ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharaj. It’s Not just a movie.” – It is a battle cry to honor a warrior who fought against all odds, challenged the might of the mighty Mughal Empire and created a legacy that can never be forgotten.
The Pride of India: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will release in theaters on January 21, 2027. His note further reads, “Get ready for a magnum opus action drama, a cinematic experience unlike any other, as we uncover the untold story of #ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharaj.
Global release on 21st January 2027.”
Rishabh Shetty will next be seen in the prequel to his 2022 film Kantara, titled Kantara: Chapter 1. He has also been cast in the lead role for Prashant Verma’s Jai Hanuman, the second installment of his highly successful film Hanu-Man.
